07.10.202614:30:00UTC+00U.S. Refinery Crude Runs Rebound Week-on-Week, EIA Data Shows

U.S. refinery crude runs posted a modest rebound in the latest week, according to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on 07 October 2026. The indicator rose by 0.223 million barrels week-on-week, compared with a decline of 0.554 million barrels in the previous week.

The EIA’s week-over-week comparison shows that after refineries cut throughput in the prior period, activity has edged higher, signaling a partial recovery in crude processing. The “Actual” reading reflects the change in refinery runs for the current week versus the previous week, while the “Previous” figure captures the change recorded in the prior week compared to the week before that.

This shift from a negative to a positive weekly change suggests that U.S. refineries have slightly increased utilization after a period of reduced runs, a move that may influence near-term dynamics in crude demand and refined product supply.
