08.07.202606:12:18UTC+00Swedish Inflation Eases Slightly in June

Consumer prices in Sweden increased by 0.7% year-on-year in June 2026, matching market expectations and easing slightly from the seven-month high of 0.8% recorded in May, according to preliminary estimates. This was the second consecutive month of rising inflation, though at a more moderate pace.

“The pace of inflation eased in June as a result, among other things, of lower food prices and transport costs,” said Mikael Nordin, price statistician at Statistics Sweden.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in June, down from a 1.0% increase in the previous month. Meanwhile, the consumer price index with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) – the Riksbank’s preferred target measure – increased by 1.3% year-on-year in June, compared with 1.5% in May, and came in slightly above the consensus forecast of 1.2%.
